ROCKS- TIM KORRY Indie Musician's Blog

An opportunity materialized just a few weeks ago to play at a cool concert series called Chill on the Hill. This was a great chance to get the new music in front of a large crowd, however due to the unavailability of my backing musicians; this was also to be a testing ground for the new sequencer. Out of the frying pan…. After a month of hard work learning, sequencing, and practicing we were ready to test this thing out…. In front of a lot of people… no pressure. Through prayer and hard work we were able to provide some entertaining moments and really get a feel for using live musicians with sequenced material. Another experimental success was the ability to live stream the show thanks to AVXTRA. The show unfortunately was cut short do to timing issues at the venue but we were excited to test out the new technology all the same. Here is a clip of my friend TY laying down a positive gospel rap over a live version of “Under the Wishing Well”.
Focus is now shifting to video production of “Light as a Feather” and “9 Sticks”.
Writing and arranging has begun for the next full CD “Above the Snake Line”. There have been some challenging experiences in the last few weeks, but focusing on the positive has made the situations manageable. There are lots of rocks ahead but faith can move mountains, so what are a few rocks?

Storms and Snakes - Tim Korry Indie Musician's Blog

The CD is now out in physical and digital form. The official release event went well in an interesting stripped down acoustic arrangement. The video for ‘9Sticks’ will begin filming this month and be shot by Taylor Video Productions I am told. The video for ‘Light as a Feather’ is being discussed for July. There is a great deal of work ahead especially with the new addition of some Fantom G sequencing in the mix… or loop… it’s a bad pun either way.
I planned on booking more shows rockin the goth/dance/world music vibe but a little push from the Lord seemed to remind me that the outcome of this musical journey is not in my time but his. Times get trying and things don’t turn out the way I planned but it’s not really my plan in the first place. I never decided to write a load of songs and try to get people to listen when I was 3 or something. I was actually 8 ha (but seriously) the Indie music biz is challenging and there are greedy snakes in every corner. My spirit was a little hesitant the other day with worry and general life confusion when two new songs came out as fast as I could write. I took that as an answer to the questions posed by doubt. I entered into a conversation with someone who knows a fashion show videographer that may be willing to shoot a music video after a prayer today about direction. This happened within a half hours time.
I’m excited and a bit apprehensive to enter into this next technically advanced phase of live and recorded song development. Keeping strong in Faith is keeping me pushing through the storms on both sides…and they are there. Storms and snakes…Preproduction for the next CD will start next week.

777 Tim Korry - Indie Musician's Journal

The last few weeks have been very strange… in a good way. Honestly, I don’t know how much music content will be in this post. I just thought you should know….
I was stopped at a traffic light on the way to work listening to a Christian radio station that I would occasionally check out, when something life changing happened. I was always up for any kind of music as long as it was good and I’ve always considered myself a Christian (you may have taken a hint if you have heard any previously released CD’s and MP3’s).  I have always had twinges of feeling the Love of God or the direction of the Holy Spirit but honestly, it was probably after a few beers and some hours of alone time in the backyard or something of that nature. I’ve always believed that my songs were inspired by something else. I believe that the songs are already written in fact. That is probably why I tell people that I just listen to what’s going on in my head. I can’t take the credit for any of it.
To make a short story long, an intense wave of emotions physically flooded my body while stopped at a traffic light listening to a station called KLove on the way to work. I don’t know why or how this happened and was quite confused by the timing… there wasn’t any music playing, there was a morning show on but nothing out of the ordinary. I don't even remember what they were talking about but in a few words a rush of emotion was triggered that I cannot even begin to describe. I burst into tears not knowing if they were of joy sadness or both as the light turned green and I felt that a gigantic weight had been lifted from me (this went on all day btw). I had been carrying this weight for 25 years. I tried to feel the buzz of smoking, drinking, and carrying on for years because hey, I’m a rock & roller. But let me tell you that nothing compares to the feeling of letting go and letting the Holy Spirit take control and move inside. Again, it sounds lame when I try to put the intensity into human words. I was changed in one still moment. My heart, my eyes, my attitude all cleared and I praise God for that. I seriously went out that day and bought a new Bible (that I now read daily), and some great CD's from The Afters and Matthew West who wrote a song that described the way I was living "The Motions". Now, I did not become a perfect person or anything like that so don't  be quick to judge. I found that every minute of the day became a battle for this new spirit of peace and hope. I can imagine that I will be targeted more by the darkness of this world but I can surround myself with the strength of the Spirit, good people of God, good music, and most of all know that “In Christ I can do all things”.
Musically, I have a few Country music singles that I will release in the next few months hopefully selling one to Alan Jackson's crew (I didn’t think you would see that one coming either), but the way is decided in my next musical venture... I am currently writing and very excited about a full length Christian music album. Several things have moved, opened, and made some very big changes possible in my current situation and I will follow this path. I have had doors open in the area of a monster sequencer, the money to buy it, and many other opportunities. I am currently looking over a distribution contract from a Christian record company! I am thankful for this new day, I will not fear the uphill climb, and I will glorify God with all my heart, soul, and strength… and I’m feeling strong so grab a seatbelt and hold on.  This was a very personal experience that was only told to a few people but I felt that this change was not meant to remain silent.
