Storms and Snakes - Tim Korry Indie Musician's Blog

The CD is now out in physical and digital form. The official release event went well in an interesting stripped down acoustic arrangement. The video for ‘9Sticks’ will begin filming this month and be shot by Taylor Video Productions I am told. The video for ‘Light as a Feather’ is being discussed for July. There is a great deal of work ahead especially with the new addition of some Fantom G sequencing in the mix… or loop… it’s a bad pun either way.
I planned on booking more shows rockin the goth/dance/world music vibe but a little push from the Lord seemed to remind me that the outcome of this musical journey is not in my time but his. Times get trying and things don’t turn out the way I planned but it’s not really my plan in the first place. I never decided to write a load of songs and try to get people to listen when I was 3 or something. I was actually 8 ha (but seriously) the Indie music biz is challenging and there are greedy snakes in every corner. My spirit was a little hesitant the other day with worry and general life confusion when two new songs came out as fast as I could write. I took that as an answer to the questions posed by doubt. I entered into a conversation with someone who knows a fashion show videographer that may be willing to shoot a music video after a prayer today about direction. This happened within a half hours time.
I’m excited and a bit apprehensive to enter into this next technically advanced phase of live and recorded song development. Keeping strong in Faith is keeping me pushing through the storms on both sides…and they are there. Storms and snakes…Preproduction for the next CD will start next week.

EXPERIMENTS IN FREQUENCY MODULATION- TIM KORRY- Indie Musician, with bits of SteamPunkery

The sounds of spring can be heard marching forward in the distance as an unusual warmth travels over the towering hoods of snow. Excitement, distraction, and mystery swirl from head to pen. Things seem to change and mix very quickly for an Indie Musician in the days of digital advancement. Weeks of stillness can suddenly explode into deep smoldering whirlwinds of activity. My comfort level is that of one watching an iguana eat, with its eyes rolling back into it’s head.
I was recently immersed in an online Indie Music competition, which if nothing else, provided a bit of free PR. I usually get a bit agitated when asked to “compete” in an artistic format. Certainly we don’t put the designs of painters up against each other in competition. Hmmmm.....In this case however, I was able to see the value in this proposition and greatly appreciated the chance to be a part of a great resource for Indie Music.  It’s about time that someone comes out and supports this format without “nickel & diming” the musician. I am thankful to Deborah at Rising Star Artists for the work that she does in this industry and for the opportunity. The video entry, filmed by Frankie Latina, was from previous album called MUSIC FROM EARTH. Although promotion of the new CD is of utmost importance, this project proved to be splendiferous for gaining a bit of attention. I am looking antecedently to continuing a relationship with Rising Star Artists.
A song from BETWEEN THE SUN & THE MOON was featured on 91.1FM WGTD, a local NPR affiliate, every day this past week. This to me, was an exciting experiment in frequency modulation. Favorable circumstances for reception and reflection indeed. I am much obliged to Dave McGrath for the airtime and fantastical exposure in this stations support of local musicians. Une grande réussite!
The new songs are being prepared in their physical form and will be for available for acquisition in early March along with an expanded website and merchandise. I feel that we are building up a full head of steam and ready to head into the aether after a few minor adjustments. Cogs and sprockets have been oiled, gears and whatsits are checked and balanced, and composition mixed with brand as we prepare to travel by dragonfly. We are weeks away from a new voyage….
