TIM KORRY- Indie Musician's Log- Stardate 10/11 Deo Optimo Maximo

The last five weeks have been really busy. 25 new songs have been developed and recorded for preproduction. Let me tell you 2-3 hours a night after an 8 hour day takes its toll a bit, but thanks to God for the opportunity and strength to move through it. The rough tracks are not solid yet and there are more yet on the way… literally a “work in progress”. Filming for the 9 Sticks video was to begin next month, but has been postponed due to some time and personnel issues. These things happen. Moving forward, I anticipate releasing an animated music video before the end of the year and live streaming a show within the next few months. Currently I am working to release a single by years end called “Back to Your Heartbeat”.
This fall season has inspired a lot of thought and musical ideas. I’m not sure what will be happening next, but this is the dilemma of many artists. We live in boxes, we buy food and eat in boxes, we raise families in boxes, and we end up in boxes. What is outside the box? This is what we seek. News to come….

EXPERIMENTS IN FREQUENCY MODULATION- TIM KORRY- Indie Musician, with bits of SteamPunkery

The sounds of spring can be heard marching forward in the distance as an unusual warmth travels over the towering hoods of snow. Excitement, distraction, and mystery swirl from head to pen. Things seem to change and mix very quickly for an Indie Musician in the days of digital advancement. Weeks of stillness can suddenly explode into deep smoldering whirlwinds of activity. My comfort level is that of one watching an iguana eat, with its eyes rolling back into it’s head.
I was recently immersed in an online Indie Music competition, which if nothing else, provided a bit of free PR. I usually get a bit agitated when asked to “compete” in an artistic format. Certainly we don’t put the designs of painters up against each other in competition. Hmmmm.....In this case however, I was able to see the value in this proposition and greatly appreciated the chance to be a part of a great resource for Indie Music.  It’s about time that someone comes out and supports this format without “nickel & diming” the musician. I am thankful to Deborah at Rising Star Artists for the work that she does in this industry and for the opportunity. The video entry, filmed by Frankie Latina, was from previous album called MUSIC FROM EARTH. Although promotion of the new CD is of utmost importance, this project proved to be splendiferous for gaining a bit of attention. I am looking antecedently to continuing a relationship with Rising Star Artists
A song from BETWEEN THE SUN & THE MOON was featured on 91.1FM WGTD, a local NPR affiliate, every day this past week. This to me, was an exciting experiment in frequency modulation. Favorable circumstances for reception and reflection indeed. I am much obliged to Dave McGrath for the airtime and fantastical exposure in this stations support of local musicians. Une grande réussite!
The new songs are being prepared in their physical form and will be for available for acquisition in early March along with an expanded website and merchandise. I feel that we are building up a full head of steam and ready to head into the aether after a few minor adjustments. Cogs and sprockets have been oiled, gears and whatsits are checked and balanced, and composition mixed with brand as we prepare to travel by dragonfly. We are weeks away from a new voyage….
